What You’ll Do:

The person should possess a balanced mix of functional and technical skills to lead the design of one or more business processes or services within an organisation leading up to automation. As a member of the finance department, this person will identify opportunities to improve or gain efficiencies by leveraging software applications, and actively partner with the IT team to co-lead the technical vision to success. They may also be responsible for identifying future business needs for system integrations or changes.

The person is responsible for supporting IT in the implementation and maintenance of financial software. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring that all financial modules and systems are meeting organisational needs and business requirements. In addition, the employee will ensure that consistent practices are used throughout the company to maintain the integrity of the system.

  • Evaluate current systems’ functionality used within the enterprise and recommend solutions to improve or enhance procedures, processes and/or design.
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts, design and leverage KPIs to measure progress.
  • Coordinate with counterpart in IT development effort and provide business guidance based on business needs throughout the system development life cycle
  • Understand technical aspects of each project to help identify risks or issues and propose mitigation options.
  • Document requirements needed to institute updates, upgrades, or implementations, and work closely with IT project management teams to successfully monitor progress of initiatives
  • Maintains account posting rules, custom validations, and other system logic
  • Collaborates with IT and finance staff to meet business requirements
  • Writes reports, including Hyperion, D365 reports
  • Conducts data integrity reviews and other quality control tasks
  • Fields and prioritises end user requests; may be responsible for end user training.
  • Tests systems and data integrations
  • Investigates posting discrepancies and business process errors
  • Support maintenance of role assignment matrix for financial approvals
  • Leads financial systems projects to successful completion in collaboration with IT Business Applications Team
  • Other duties may be assigned and modified by supervisor

 

What we want from you:

  • Proficient in the English language
  • Excellent written and oral communication/presentation skills, including ability to summarise complex issues succinctly for a wide range of constituents
  • Comfortable presenting to C level Execs
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build effective relationships with functional, senior, and executive management.
  • Strong Accounting & Finance background
  • Critical thinking capacity, with the ability to think high-level yet execute at the detail level
  • Knowledge of reporting and analytics including journal entries, expense accounts, fixed asset accounting, bank reconciliations, and balance sheet/profit loss analysis and reporting
  • Familiar with relational database concepts, object-oriented system structure, system logic and report writing
  • Strong process analysis and improvement skills with a focus on Sarbanes-Oxley compliance
  • Experience with feature enhancement planning and large-scale implementations
  • Ability to complete data mining
  • Familiar with object-oriented system structure, system logic, and report writing
  • Provides professional training on existing and new processes

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE CRITERIA:

      • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration required
      • Minimum 8 years of related experience
      • Participation in or leadership of large system implementation or general ledger redesign required
      • Hyperion, D365 Financials experience is a plus
