What You’ll Do 

Provides directive leadership in all aspects of food safety across production kitchen and vessel operations  

Drives accountability across the Operations team for the implementation of the REEF food safety program. Leverages our third party audit program, online learning platform, internal auditing program, and site management to achieve positive food safety outcomes. 

Collaborates with the Brand Activation team and external brands to communicate the REEF food safety program and create alignment across food safety programs. 

Leads the development, project management, training, and rollout of targeted food safety initiatives. 
 
Ensures all food safety controls in the kitchens are in place and that our HACCP plan is being executed faithfully. Drives adherence to all brand standards.  

Serves as a subject matter expert in collaboration with other REEF teams to ensure that food safety hazards are mitigated across all applications, including Retail and Logistics. 

Conducts root cause analysis and corrective actions to address system and program failures. 
 
Assists VP of Food Safety with the preparation of HACCP, Food Safety, Allergen Control, Food Defense/Biosecurity, Pest Control, Supplier Approval, Crisis Management, and Document Management plans. 

Optimizes available resources to maximize productivity through capacity planning and continuous improvement.  
 
Other duties may be assigned and modified by supervisor.  

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:  

A results-oriented individual with strong influencing, problem solving and negotiation skills to drive accountability across a large organization. 

Proven ability to collaboratively problem-solve complex issues.  
Proven capabilities in managing and executing operational initiatives in a growing and fast paced environment.  
Ability to perform under pressure and lead multiple priorities with competing demands for resources while instilling confidence in the business and quickly instituting change that results in improvement.  
Proven track record as not only as a “coach/leader” leading others, but also having the willingness and ability to roll up the sleeves and engage in detailed execution when required.  
A “Foodie” with a passion for cooking, eating out, and enjoying food as a life experience; must understand the importance and complexity of maintaining a safe food supply chain.  
Travel for work, up to 70% of the time.  

EDUCATION / SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:  

5+ years’ experience in a food safety management environment preferred.    
3+ years of operations and leadership experience.  
Experience working in a startup or food-tech company preferred. 
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in related field from an accredited university or specialized training program preferred.   
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
