Essential Job Functions

The Field Kitchen Trainer Coordinator identifies and communicates best practices across all operations divisions and channels to develop and drive consistency in work processes and benchmarking standards of performance of Operations leaders. The Kitchen Trainer Coordinator is the key driver in developing and implementing a culture of continuous improvement throughout REEF. 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Determine resources needed at kitchens and analyze weekly/monthly defect rates with Area Leaders.
  • Assist in root cause analysis and corrective actions as necessary. 
  • Align with Area Leader to ensure compliance with current REEF Kitchens Quality Policies and Procedures are being adhered to.
  • Support in preparing training materials for employee and management training with respect to GMP’s, Allergens, Food Safety Plans, Hazard Analysis, Bio Security, recordkeeping, etc. 
  • Maintain technical competency and up to date on changes in technology and the industry. 
  • Complete and maintain all required paperwork, records, documents, etc. 
  • Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations. 
  • Devise and implement measurement tool for monitoring performance with respect to Brand retention and Kitchen Competency.
  • Responsible for leading the change process by working closely with the Area Leaders.
  • Optimize available resources using capacity planning and continuous improvement to maximize productivity.
  • Lead, train, and monitor performance of team members to ensure efficiency in service operations and meeting of individual & group targets. 
  • Timely and accurate completion of duties. 
  • Other duties may be assigned and modified by Area Leader.
  • Step into the day-to-day operations where needed.
  •  Rotate locations based on business needs.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Proven ability to build relationships and influence individuals at all levels in the organization to problem-solve complex issues. 
  • Proven capabilities in managing and executing Operational Excellence initiatives in a growing and fast paced environment. 
  • Ability to perform under pressure and lead multiple priorities with competing demands while instilling confidence in the business and demonstrating the business value of Operational Excellence activities.
  • Proven track record as not only as a coach or leader, but also having the willingness and ability to roll up the sleeves and engage in detailed execution when required. 
  • Demonstrated leadership skills directing workflow and leading a team. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.  
  • Ability to meet business needs given competing priorities.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Education and Knowledge

  • 3-5 years of relevant professional experience in operations training and restaurant operations or similar role required.
  • Previous experience working in safety operations within food service distribution preferred.
  • Certification in HACCP and Food Handling preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
