What You’ll Do
As the Assistant General Counsel – Privacy, you’ll report to the Deputy General Counsel for Litigation and Data Privacy based in New York City and will help build the REEF’s global privacy program, while providing advice, counseling, and support to internal clients and business units on data privacy and data security matters across all of the REEF businesses as the Company expands national and global operations.   • Provide strategic data privacy advice on new products, features, and new uses
  • Help monitor and ensure best practices and procedures internally and with client and vendor relationships within all applicable privacy frameworks (domestic and international)
  • Review and provide negotiating support on agreements relating to privacy matters, including vendor contract provisions relating to privacy
  • Maintain, update and align privacy policies, and manage consumer data requests
  • Work collaboratively with information security and IT teams on all data protection matters
  • Maintain, update, and align privacy policies, and manage consumer data requests
  • Work cross-functionally and assist in the investigation and remediation of data incidents
  • Advise on and stay abreast of data privacy and security legal and regulatory developments and trends
  • Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned

What We Want From You

  • Must have a four-year degree, a juris doctorate (JD), and be a member in good standing of a state bar
  • 5+ years of legal experience in privacy, with extensive knowledge and working experience with data privacy and security legal frameworks (including but not limited to GDPR, CCPA and HIPAA), digital technology and consumer data, as well as experience with designing and implementing an organizational privacy compliance program.
  • Superior writing skills
  • Excellent academic and law firm credentials. Law firm experience required; Big Law and in-house experience a plus.
