Together we are leveraging the power of proximity to keep our communities moving forward in a sustainable and thoughtful way. The Expansion Operations lead will be the hands-on element of our team – able to travel throughout the New York City and nationally help bring REEF’s services to our customer’s block.  

Primary Duties and Responsibilities  

  • Be the main point of contact on ground when launching a new site and manage the operation during hyper care with the support of field and ops excellence.  
  • Be on site the first week after launch to ensure it goes smoothly.  
  • Manage the “away team” and coordinate with managers, supervisors, and drivers on launch plans. 
  • Work cross-functionally with other teams for a successful launch  
  • Assesses and executes in the department as required – directly engaging in daily / weekly taskings from Expansion Director.  
  • Directly responsible for management of department duties during launch, including 5S’ing of lot, procuring supplies and coordinating with support elements to ensure lot safety and cleanliness 
  • Providing policy follow-up, writing and establishing SOPs – ensures proper dissemination to the field team 
  • Create a launch playbook for every site for field leaders to reference. 
  • Determine what supplies are needed for launch based on the operating needs 
  • Audits SOPs and partners with the field team as an associate resource, training associates and verifying SOP compliance after implementation 
  • Fully understanding workflow and daily production goals – willing to learn performance metrics and lean process improvement  
  • Participating in Expansion initiatives – understanding role and personally taking the initiative to self-assign work that is within launch scope 
  • Participating in Field Studies – able to analyze, describe, process implement and execute process improvements  
  • Providing additional coverage to human resource / recruiting team to help onboard new hire candidates including interviewing, selecting, and training employees. 
  • Other duties as assigned and modified at manager’s direction. 
  • Work with cross-functional teams including legal, finance, learning, field and product tam to drive the expansion of a new site. 
  • Execute multiple time-sensitive, large-scale projects to meet timeframes.  
  • Identify, drive, and develop best practices, efficiencies and project workflows 

What We Want From You

  • 2+ years of field experience directly responsible for launching initiatives and project management 
  • 2+ year working in a like environment (manufacturing/distribution/logistics/warehousing) 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with a wide variety of teams and assist team members as directed by Expansion regional leader 
  • Flexibility in schedule. Travel to markets to coordinate launches up to 75% of the time
