What You'll Do:

The Field Auditor is responsible for verifying the accuracy of each cashier’s shift reports and revenue reporting. The Field Auditor counts, reconciles, and validates cashier reports and tickets and reports on identified errors, overages and shortages. The Field Auditor works with other members of the accounting team including the bookkeeper and controller.
A successful incumbent in this role is highly organized, detail oriented, can perform basic math, and is effective at demonstrating accuracy in auditing.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):

  • Review cashier bundles for accuracy.
  • Reconcile cashier tickets using receipts and reports.
  • Report and issue shortages and overages.
  • Report and issue paperwork errors.
  • Reconcile billable validations and document adjustments.
  • Submit audit worksheets and supporting cashier documentation.
  • Review emails and shift reports for cashier, equipment, or other related exceptions.
  • Print discounted validation coupons as necessary and document in log.
  • Update validation master list with new and cancelled accounts as necessary.
  • Provide vendor validation billing to bookkeeper as needed.
  • Audit limited monthly passes for violations.
  • Collect deposit receipts from the bank.
  • Maintain organized cashier bundle and ticket material and retain as necessary.

 

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Proficient using Microsoft software including excel.
  • Ability to accurately count and conduct basic math including addition and subtraction.
  • Proficient using computers to pull reports.
  • Ability to electronically file documents.
  • Ability to analyze reports to identify and trouble shoot errors.
  • Ability to work with other as well as independently and meet deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.

What We Want From You:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Associates degree in accounting, business, finance, or related field of study.
    • Two years’ experience in a similar role.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Occasionally move around the property by walking for extended periods of time.
Frequently operate small office equipment such as cash register, calculator, copier/printer
Will remain in seated position for extended periods of time.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is performed in indoor as well as outdoor environments. Employees are subject to environmental conditions including extreme heat and cold weather. Protection from weather conditions may be provided, but not necessarily from temperature changes.
