What You’ll Do

The Manager, Contract Administration will be a Subject Matter Expert on REEF’s insurance policies and their applicability to legal contracts and other risk management matters under consideration.  This role will have high level interactions with the legal group and business operations to ascertain coverage requirements/obligations in contracts and appropriate company response.  He/she will be instrumental in the insurance renewal process by keeping abreast of the evolving business development opportunities being pursued by all REEF’s businesses and keeping underwriters current on these updates.

 

In addition:

  • Primary responsibility to review legal contracts sent to Risk for review of insurance coverage, both provided to REEF and by REEF, including interactions of Liability limits, indemnification wording, etc.
  • Interact with REEF’s insurance broker as escalation point
  • Maintain solid working relationships with REEF business units, legal and other Corporate functions to stay current on evolving business developments and strategic initiatives
  • Acts as initial point of contact between legal group and Risk department, and coordinating with senior risk management as needed
  • This position will also maintain the database of Certificates of Insurance issued and received by REEF business partners, keeping these current and reviewing to ensure they meet contractual needs; coordinating with Broker as necessary
  • Continuously leverage and implement the use of technology to extend and increase efficiencies in the Risk Management department’s ability to manage insurance policies/certificates and business/departmental contracts
  • Provide oversight and guidance to business units on complex insurance claims
  • Prepare and deliver business updates, performance metrics, project status reports and other complex information in various formats, including verbal, written, presentation, etc. Tailor the information to the appropriate audience(s), ranging from senior executives to associates
  • May represent the company as an insurance policy expert in litigation
  • Coordinates feedback and monitors corrective action status, internal and external audit and other review matters
  • Will lead a staff of reviewers from 1-5 individuals

What We Want From You:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required in accounting/finance, Risk Management or related field
  • A minimum of 7 years or more of combined risk management, insurance placement and contract review experience
  • Experience reading, analyzing and interpreting insurance related policies/documents/issues
  • Ability to identify risk and weigh those risks against the business opportunity
  • Real Estate, Hospitality and/or Retail Industry experience preferred but not required
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects at a time in a fast-paced dynamic, customer service-oriented environment, both collaborating as a team and working independently
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
  • Excellent written and oral communication/presentation skills, including ability to summarize complex issues succinctly for a wide range of constituents
  • Strong MS Office 365 skills required, other financial systems and audit software knowledge preferred
