What You’ll Do

The Manager, Finance & Administration acts as the primary financial and administrative person within the Risk Management department.  This role will coordinate and be the primary contact with other departments within the company on finance and accounting matters, such as procurement, accounting, corporate planning, treasury, etc.  He/she will additionally interact with external parties like insurance brokers, third party administrators, actuaries, etc.  This role will assist with critical business projects and plays a key role in the development, assessment and implementation of the Risk Management organization’s strategy.

 

In addition:

  • Prepares annual Risk management budgets and forecasts, providing financial oversight and controls including analyzing actual spend and monthly close process
  • Coordinates procure to pay process of insurance related payments including premiums, fees, claims, etc.
  • Acts as liaison with Accounting, Treasury, Legal, Third Party Administrators, Actuaries, etc.
  • Provides financial and administrative leadership for all critical business projects and plays a key role in the development, assessment and implementation of the Risk Management department strategy. Projects may include process improvement, policy and procedure creation/updates, and system implementation/upgrade, etc
  • Produce analytical models, including quantitative and qualitative analytics on demand to deliver in-depth assessments of cost performance and develop recommendations for action
  • Assists Risk team on claims matters, including creating vendors and setting up payments for settlements, coordinated with our legal group
  • Support and coordinate insurer audits and responses
  • May implement and/or oversee department compliance and quality control
  • Will lead a staff of 1-3 individuals

What We Want From You:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required in accounting/finance, risk management or related field
  • A minimum of 7 years or more of accounting/finance experience
  • Real Estate, Hospitality and/or Retail Industry experience a plus
  • Knowledge of U.S. GAAP, information systems, internal control concepts and techniques, budgeting and forecasting required, actuarial science a plus
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects at a time in a fast-paced dynamic, customer service-oriented environment, both collaborating as a team and working independently
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
  • Excellent written and oral communication/presentation skills, including ability to summarize complex issues succinctly for a wide range of constituents
  • Strong MS Office 365 skills required, other financial systems and audit software knowledge preferred
