What You’ll Do
|As a Labor Relations Manager, you will provide leadership and support to deliverables relating to labor relations strategy, negotiations, collective agreement interpretation, grievance and arbitration resolution, and policies.

  • Manage all aspects of labor relations, including the grievance and arbitration process and the overall administration and interpretation of collective agreements
  • Provide advice and consultation to Senior Leaders regarding the interpretation and administration of collective agreements, the application of relevant employment legislation, and the management and administration of all employee and labor relation issues
  • Lead and support the Collective Bargaining process
  • Research and analyze current and emerging labor/employee relations issues and market trends in employment, human rights, and employment standards legislation
  • Develop, revise, and maintain the rules and protocols in place, outside of the Collective Agreement and procedures; provide insight and rational to members, supervisors, senior leaders and association
  • Acts as a liaison and is the main point of contact with HR peers on labor relations strategies and issues
  • Review company policies to ensure that they are current and support our strategic plan

What We Want From You

  • Bachelor’s degree in Labor/Industrial Relations, Human Resources, or other related field 
  • Master’s degree in industrial Relations or Labor Law or Master’s in Law, with a labor law focus is preferred
  • Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL) and/or previous legal background with experience in employment law or labor relations is preferred
  • 5 years’ of progressively responsible labor relations experience is required, including labor relations, human rights, and workplace dispute resolutions in a complex, unionized environment 
  • 3+ years of collective bargaining experience

  • Frequently operate small office equipment such as a computer, tablet, and copier/printer, telephone.
  • Work is performed in a professional office environment.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is performed indoors for extended periods of time including up to the entire duration of shift.
