What You’ll Do

You will manage the merchandising selection in a region assigned to you. You will work closely with the Director of Retail Strategy & Merchandising to optimize merchandising selection, perform market research, develop performance analysis, support operations for digital store set-up, among others. This is a cross-department environment where you will collaborate with Procurement, Supply Chain, Operations, Sales Channel and Brand Success to have a holistic view of the business.
Your main responsibilities:

  • Conduct merchandising market research within the grocery, convenience and retail industries, identifying brands and products with high potential of performing in different cities and categories
  • Define product selection available for sale on the regions that you manage
  • Work with Procurement and Supply Chain to follow closely the sourcing, ordering and receiving steps of the process
  • Develop pricing strategy by analyzing both top-down and bottom-up approaches
  • Prepare and update menus to set-up the digital stores, including adding and removing items for sale, setting up prices, promotions, names, descriptions and product orders
  • Develop performance analysis of the categories and SKUs in each city that you manage, make data-driven decisions on what to discontinue vs explore, tailoring the product offering to leverage identified trends, demographics and concepts that we want to develop
  • Create bundles according to merchandising performance and customers’ preferences
  • Work with Supply Chain and Operations teams to analyze merchandising volume and target inventory and to help optimize our storage space
  • Collaborate with Brand Curation and Brand Success to understand partners’ needs when managing third-party brands
  • Develop a depletion strategy for expiring and low performer products and maintain cross-department depletion process with Operations, Supply Chain and Marketing teams

What We Want From You:

  • 3+ years of experience in merchandising, operations or strategic planning in Consumer Package Goods (CPG), Food & Beverage, Grocery or other Retail-related industry
  • Project management skills
  • Strategic mindset and a self-starter attitude. You thrive in a fast-paced start-up environment
  • Detail-oriented mindset, capable of developing high-quality work within short timelines
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Internal stakeholder management with demonstrated excellence in working in cross-functional setups
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
