Meter Technician

Park Waterloo is currently searching for outgoing personalities to join our team to help us meet our customer service objectives, implement new parking technologies and improve the overall parking operations downtown. Our Meter Technician performs the meter revenue collections as well as helps to keep the meters in working order through preventative maintenance and repair work.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assist guests at meters and provide customer service
• Daily and weekly meter collection routes
• Cleaning, replacing, repairing and adjusting parking meters
• Removal and installation of meters
• Performing periodic preventative maintenance work on meters
• Becoming knowledgeable and learning new techniques with the meters
• Snow/ice abatement during winter months
• Assist with event operations and preselling parking
• Basic maintenance and janitorial duties
• Cross train and learn how to perform other departmental duties
• Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:
• Ability to work in outdoor environments for extended periods of time
• Outgoing, friendly personality
• Ability to walk or stand for full shift
• Sufficient personal mobility
• Ability to lift 30lbs.
• Valid Iowa driver’s license
• Clean background
• Reliable transportation to and from work
• Impeccable attendance

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
• 24/7 Operation
• Overtime required occasionally; 40 hours per week is a minimum
• Flexible schedule is needed. The current shift is M-F 8:00-4:30 but hours can vary based on needs of the operation and downtown events
