Location: Downtown Portland

Shifts: Tuesday - Saturday, 3:30pm - 12am (midnight)

What You’ll Do

  • Accurately prepare and issue legally supportable parking penalty notices, utilizing automated mobile equipment and data bases.
  • Maintain, trouble shoot, and correctly utilize specialized parking enforcement equipment including; vehicles, mobile computer equipment, license plate recognition system/equipment.
  • Correctly extract information from automated parking and data bases including, 'Parking X', M.P.S Core, pay by phone systems, and digital patrol.
  • Report any deficiencies on locations with respect to appearance, safety, equipment, and lighting.
  • Correctly identify vehicles parked in violation of applicable statutes, ordinances, rules, or laws.
  • Notify supervisor of situations involving vehicles that may need to be towed and when directed by PAS management guide tow-truck driver to the correct vehicle.
  • Patrols assigned area independently, serves as a visual deterrent to parking violators, stays alert to dangers working alone in secluded areas.
  • Accurately enter vehicle information into handheld timed parking program and return at regular intervals to issue penalty notices when parking time limits are exceeded.
  • Prepare and maintain required records, including logs of patrol activities.
  • Observe and report hazardous parked vehicles.
  • Explains actions and interprets rules and regulations to the public; provides a variety of public service and assistance, such as providing directions, contacting service representatives or break down/locksmith services for motorist.

 

What We Want From You:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Driver’s License with a clean driving record (MVR will be performed)
  • Knowledge and ability to use computer software including; word processing, spreadsheets, and e-mail systems.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Be able to walk/ride bike up to 15+ miles a day
  • Able to lift/carry up to 40 pounds.
  • Frequently operate small office equipment such as a computer, tablet, and copier/printer, telephone.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Work is performed outdoors for extended periods of time.
  • Able to work in all seasonal elements
