Systems Engineer

What You’ll Do:

We are looking for a Systems Engineer, based out of the Miami office to support and maintain REEF’s corporate Infrastructure. The Senior Systems Engineer is a subject matter expert ad be responsible for the day-to-day operations of corporate systems, Data Center functions and support platforms of the REEF global environment. These services include but are not restricted to: Performance engineering and monitoring, operating system management, escalating application performance issues, securing systems environment, establishing and testing disaster recovery, completing backups, systems upgrades, interfacing with cloud and managed services, Windows and VMWare and Linux operating systems along with Hardware life cycle. The role acts as subject matter expert for systems infrastructure, cloud hosting technologies, and systems located in data center and global office locations. The position collaborates heavily with engineering teams, third party providers, service delivery teams as well as the applications teams. The position works together with the infrastructure team and operations manager on the health of all systems services and equipment to ensure high performance access and availability to business applications and services. This role will focus on backend systems (server) environment and cloud hosting with a strong service-oriented culture.

The person in this role must have sound technical capabilities across systems and cloud disciplines. This person must have a strong understanding of AWS, Microsoft Azure, Office365, Email, Active Directory, DNS, Microsoft Operating Systems, Monitoring tools and solutions, VMWare, Firewalls, switching and routing, storage technologies, or other related platforms along with troubleshooting and systems operations.
Must possesses team management skills, including planning, setting priorities, providing root cause analysis, and problem resolution and good communication skills. The SE maintains a results-oriented focus and actively seeks responsibility and accountability for results. Meets regularly with management. This position reports to the IT Operations Manager.

• Collaborate with external and internal teams to update, create, and operate new and existing infrastructure technologies
• Contribute to the design, development and implementation of infrastructure services and procedures
• Provide direct support and maintenance of the corporate infrastructure
• Setup or maintain monitoring tools for infrastructure services
• Conduct preventative maintenance tasks and activities for various systems
• Document infrastructure changes or change procedures
• Analyze, recommend improvements, test solutions and implement changes as necessary to the infrastructure
• Follow processes and procedures to deliver quality service to REEF and it’s clients following ITIL best practices
• Write instructional support documents for Help Desk/support staff as well as end-users
• Lead or participate as a team member in projects to implement infrastructure solutions and follow best practices in well-established project management methodologies
• Provide off hour, on call support as defined by business SLA requirements


What We Want From You:

• 4 -Year Degree (Computer Science or similar IT degree a plus) or related experience
• Experience working as a Systems Administrator or Engineer
• Over 6 years in a similar role and/or capacity
• Experience with VMware, storage concepts and technology, Mimecast, AWS, Microsoft Azure, Office365, Email, Active Directory, DNS, Microsoft Operating Systems, Monitoring tools and solutions, VMWare, Firewalls, switching and routing, storage technologies
• Integrating and Implementing complex solutions

• Able to see the big picture and Identify opportunities to standardize, create efficiencies, and drive value.
• Deductive reasoning skills as they pertain to system administration, such as troubleshooting focused on determining hardware vs. software, hardware vs. firmware, software vs. operating system, network vs. application/systems, and patterned vs. non-repeatable problems.
• Results-oriented and customer-focused. Demonstrated ability to develop effective working relationships with internal and external customers
• Able to drive and manage change and adhere to IT methodologies and disciplines
• Able to manage prioritize work, work independently, and meet deadlines
• Demonstrated ability to multi-task, probe, analyze and problem-solve complex issues.
