What You’ll Do

The Vice President of Audit & Advisory Services will report to the Senior Vice President of Risk and Audit and be responsible for the formation, day-to-day management, and supervision of REEF’s internal audit and advisory function.  The function’s approach and global audit plan will be risk based and guided by the department’s annual risk assessment of the Company.  The audit plan will include performing objective analyses and control assessments of financial, operational, compliance, information technology, risk management and other processes.  Additionally, the function will be responsible for initiating and leading the Company’s internal control over financial reporting (ICFR) and enterprise risk management (ERM) programs.  You’ll also: 

  • Provide leadership to the Audit and Advisory team through active participation, communication, supervision, career coaching/feedback, and performance management.
  • Provide oversight and direction to direct reports in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures and department’s goals and objectives.
  • Develop and execute the department’s audit plan, as well as various advisory projects, to assist management in assessing and improving the control environment and efficiency and effectiveness of the organization’s processes.
  • Assess financial, operational, compliance, information technology, risk management and other processes to ensure policies and procedures are properly designed and followed consistently throughout the Company to safeguard assets, verify the accuracy and reliability of accounting data, and promote adherence to prescribed policies and key laws/regulations.
  • Lead and collaborate with business stakeholders to implement, maintain, and oversee the Company’s ICFR, ERM and continuous audit programs.
  • Proactively advise executive management and the audit committee of the board of directors on enterprise risk, audit plan progress/results of audits, and other matters as needed.
  • Participate in key management committee’s and projects.
  • Oversee / execute financial and ethics investigations, as needed.
  • Review and evaluate accounting and other company policies prior to issuance and on a periodic basis.
  • Coordinate with external auditors on the company’s annual audit and ICFR assessment, including direct assistance, as applicable.
  • Ensure departmental audits, practices, policies, and procedures meet or exceed Company and professional standards.

What We Want From You:

  • A combined 12+ years of progressive experience in auditing (internal and/or external), finance and/or accounting roles, 7+ years in a managerial capacity.
  • Bachelor's and Master’s degrees in Accounting, Finance, or other business related field required.
  • CPA, CIA, CISA or other related certifications desirable.
  • Start-up/high growth company experience a plus.
  • Proven audit department and project management skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of the application of internal control concepts and accounting principles to business processes.
  • Thorough knowledge of U.S. GAAP/SEC reporting, Sarbanes-Oxley technical literature (PCAOB, SEC Guidance, etc.), and internal control design/testing.
  • Strong knowledge of IT audit/security concepts, including COSO, COBIT, etc.
  • Thorough knowledge of enterprise risk management concepts and leading practices.
  • Strong understanding of key compliance and ethics program concepts and standards, and proven investigative skills.
  • Thorough understanding of, and prior adherence to, the IIA’s Auditors Code of Ethics and the Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build effective relationships with functional, senior, and executive management.
  • Excellent written and oral communication/presentation skills, including ability to summarize complex issues succinctly for a wide range of constituents

Strong MS Office 365 skills required, other financial systems and audit software knowledge preferred.
